Therapeutic Yoga Classes in Barcelona
Yoga classes in Barcelona that care for your body
Yoga originated in India as a path to caring for body and mind. Here we approach it therapeutically, integrated with physiotherapy: focusing on breath, mobility, and relaxation, with the precision of the Iyengar method and the use of props, so that each person can progress safely and at their own pace.
What you'll try in the free class
In these trial sessions you'll discover Alou's style. These are the approaches you'll work on:
Breath and movement
A gentle class to reconnect with your breath, gain mobility, and release tension. Ideal if you're starting from scratch or want an accessible practice.
Restorative and recovery yoga
A practice to de-stress and recharge, with sustained poses and deep relaxation. Designed to calm the nervous system and truly rest.

How to book your trial class
Choose a day and time slot. The trial classes are on June 29 and July 1, in two time slots: 5:45–6:45 PM and 7:00–8:00 PM. Pick whichever works best for you.
Book on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrations are handled in the order they're received, so the sooner you message, the better.

Meet your teacher

Alou Santos
With over a decade dedicated to teaching yoga in Asia, Alou guides her students with a caring, warm, and deeply human approach.
She is trained in various styles of yoga (Vinyasa, Hatha, prenatal and postnatal, yoga for children and seniors) and continues her ongoing training in the Iyengar method. Her approach combines technique, mindful movement, and holistic wellbeing to help you live with more strength, balance, and vitality.
Alou is an independent yoga teacher and offers her classes at the Mitra Salud space.
Classes are taught in English
Alou teaches her classes in English, in a warm and easy-to-follow atmosphere. You don't need advanced English to enjoy them: in yoga, the body picks things up quickly, and many cues (breathing, pose names) are universal. If you feel like practicing yoga and brushing up on your English along the way, this is the perfect plan.
"I started yoga classes with Alou to relieve back pain from a lumbar disc herniation. Yoga helped me understand my body much better, feel less discomfort day to day, and discover the value of breathing and meditation."

Frequently asked questions
Do I need previous yoga experience?
No. The classes are designed for all levels. Thanks to the Iyengar method and the use of props, each pose is adapted to your body and your starting point.
Do I need to know English?
You don't need an advanced level. The classes are in English, but in yoga the cues are very visual and easy to follow. It's a great chance to practice the language in a relaxed way.
Can I join if I have discomfort or an injury?
Therapeutic yoga is very respectful of each person's limits. Even so, if you have an injury or condition, let Alou know before starting so the practice can be adapted, and if needed, check with your physiotherapist as well. That's why we ask for the consent form before the session.
How many spots are there?
Each session is limited to 8 people, so each student can be given proper attention. Spots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so it's a good idea to message early.
How do I book?
